Philippe Villa Trio - Amphitéâtre, concert grand public
The pianist Phillipe Villa go his way like a Bill Evans, a Paul Bley or even a Keith Jarrett. Philippe Villa learned his scaled at the Nice Academy, from which he came out with the first prize for the jazz piano back in 1989. After a small stop at the Strasbourg Academy, he hits the roads with Shirley Bassey, Gloria Gaynor and Gilbert Montagné for five years.
Since then, a now renown representative of the romantic jazz piano college, he recorded three albums (Souffle, Second Souffle, Esperanto) with his trio (Gérar Juan at the drum and Fabrice Bistoni at the double bass). In Esperanto, the trio plays contemporary music, somehow written and improvised at the same time. The pianist and composer shares elegant musical creations, with incredible melodies in the spirit of his mediterranean origins.
