Anna Farrow quartet - Salle Fitzgerald, showcase
A well calibrated audacity that allows her to play a melodious jazz, sometimes leaning toward folk and soul, with beautiful low and pure lows... Anna Farrow's voice is firm, natural in its emission, fluid in its rapport with music, wether the rhythm is slow or lively. Anglo-french autodidact, surrounded by the staples of the jazz stage Ben Rando (piano), Cédrick Bec (drum) and Sam Favreau (double bass), Anna Farrow develops the singer-songwriter tradition into a singular and unique musical world. Without lecturing us, she talks with kindness and humor about everything: the pursuit of happiness, relationships between men and women, breakups... The immersion is always in motion: graceful rumba, balanced groove, hip-swinging jazz, flight of bluesy... Everything seems simple, natural and smooth, the vocal transparency reminding us of the extrem simplicity of a folk song from Joni Mitchell.
