Caring teacher at the Saint-Laurent Cégep, variety and jazz man for over thirty years, Jean-Pierre Zanella is a staple of the Montreal blues stage. Always ready to help the youth, he still finds time to write new personal compositions, thus honoring his profession.
Saxophonist, composer and arranger, Jean-Pierre Zanella is asked by every stage in Quebec. After his mastery of jazz at the Rochester, N.Y Eastman School of Music, he played at the Montreux festival and at the Nuremberg Saxophone International Congress in 1982. The same year, he recorded two albums with Eastman Jazz Ensemble and Saxology, who made him win the “Downbeat Recording Award” (best jazz band of the year).
