Mathias Levy Unis Vers - Foyer Mediterranée
Mathias Lévy, violin & composing / Jean-Philippe Viret, double bass, Sébastien Giniaux, guitar & cello.
Mathias Lévy is like his instrument: he knows no boundaries. Trained at the classical school, gone on the bush tracks of gypsy jazz, this eclectic musician, far from locking himself into one style, multiplies experiences, with a talent and a determination that imposes him as the new voice of the violin in France.
"Unis vers," his new album, does not take its title by chance. From the unity acquired by the trio on the sound level to its typical breaths through the elegance of its counterpoints, Mathias Lévy gives to hear a group that has entirely found its balance. In this repertoire of personal compositions, he develops an acoustic aesthetic, blending classical influences, world music, and a solar and poetic "chamber jazz."
