Robinson Khoury is an eclectic young trombonist & composer. After studying in Lyon at the Conservatoires Régionaux then Supérieurs (Master's degree with unanimous honours with a special mention for the diversity of styles offered in May 2016), it is in Jazz that he will make himself known by winning several international competitions as a soloist (I.T.A 2012, La Défense 2014, Riga Jazz Stage 2016). And in groups (with his quartet Uptake à Jazz in Vienne 2014 or with the Thibault Gomez 5tet at the Tremplon d'Avignon 2015 and in Amsterdam for the "Keep an Eye Jazz Awards" in 2018).
Robinson will release several albums in 2019 with his bands Octotrip, Sarab, then in his name in December.
His album Frame Of Mind earned him some subtle distinctions, including three clefs Télérama and a CHOC Jazz Magazine. The album launch concert at the New Morning, Paris, on February 19, 2020, was a great success and was praised by the press.
Currently soloist in the prestigious Metropole Orkest (Netherlands), the trombonist also multiplies collaborations with Fred Pallem's Le Sacre du Tympan, Umlaut Big Band, Natacha Atlas, Ibrahim Maalouf or Quincy Jones' orchestra.
