David Laborier starts playing guitar at age 13. He very quickly develops a passion for this instrument. After studying at the jazz department of the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, David decides to make music his profession and starts studying at Berklee College of Music in 1995, where he obtains his Bachelor’s Degree in jazz performance in 1999. A seasoned guitarist, arranger and composer, David Laborier is a founding member of the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg (since 2005), has played with trumpet player Gast Waltzing’s band Largo and has lead various personal projects. His composition “Fast and Furious” (from the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg album “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Band”) won first place in the jazz category of the 2010 International Songwriting Competition. David was lucky enough to have three of his orchestral arrangements featured on Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo’s album “Sings".
