Exhibition Hervé Rubeaud, painter

Born in Malestroit, in French Brittany, Hervé Rubeaud trained in arts in Paris at the Sornas school, near the Louvre, as a teenager. He then began a career as a graphic designer in the field of communication. More than fifteen years ago, he returned to painting, driven by a desire to explore the dialogue between visual creation and music — particularly jazz/blues.
Since 2016—a landmark year in which he exhibited in Montreux for the festival’s 50th anniversary—he has chosen to present his work in venues that are open to all: media libraries, cultural centres, festivals… Spaces where art resonates directly with the public.
In 2024, Jazz à Juan honoured him with an invitation to its 63rd edition.
In 2025, the Hôtel Ambassadeur welcomed him, again in connection with the festival.
Hervé Rubeaud’s work explores the intense and varied emotions that jazz musicians convey through their expressions and their music. ‘Through faces, gestures and atmospheres, I want to make the viewer feel the vibrant energy and emotional depth that characterise this musical genre. My goal is to create a bridge between painting and music, inviting everyone to immerse themselves in the sensitive and expressive world of jazz.’ His work uses oil or acrylic painting techniques.
Based in Vailly-sur-Aisne, between Reims and Soissons, Hervé Rubeaud runs a studio where he develops his artistic creations and gives drawing and painting lessons.
