Sroka is a bassist and composer from New Caledonia. Like an explorer, he maps out the contours of an atmospheric, almost cinematic jazz, blending organic and synthetic sounds. Always in search of evocative melodies and pulsating rhythms, Sroka’s universe expands and refines itself, giving birth to a modern and minimalist jazz, somewhere between Portico Quartet and Erik Truffaz. His latest project, Rivagesopens up a new sonic palette where bamboo and ferns meet deep layers of synthesizers, carrying us on a dreamlike journey to new shores.
