Graduated from the National School of Arts in Havana, the drummer, producer and composer Michael Olivera is a key figure in current Cuban jazz and music. After more than 60 albums and collaborations with artists such as Quincy Jones, Alfredo Rodriguez or Richard Bona, he now lives in Madrid and leads the Cuban Jazz Syndicate, a group that brings together the best Cuban musicians living in Spain. Cuban Jazz Syndicate offers, as a sextet, music steeped in Cuban rhythms and Yoruba culture but also strongly marked by jazz. Propelled by a volcanic rhythmic, masterful winds and an imperial pianist, this modern and resolutely energetic band takes us into a concert of great quality, intense and generous.
