Founded in 2011 in Nice, the Berthé Trio is the result of the creativity of pianist Mickaël Berthelemy. This trio embodies the spirit of contemporary jazz, drawing inspiration from great masters such as Keith Jarrett, Brad Mehldau, Tigran Hamasyan and Shaï Maestro. Through arrangements of standards and original compositions, the group explores the nuances of acoustics. The evolution of the Berthé Trio transcends musical boundaries, fusing diverse influences such as Patrick Watson, Genesis, Phillip Glass and James Horner. The result is a progressive musical experience, a marriage of classical music, film soundtracks, French song and improvisation.
The trio captured their creativity by recording their debut album, titled Reminiscence, at the Riverside Studio in Turin in November 2022. The album was released in May 2023, receiving some excellent reviews.
