Project : WONDERLAND

In this project, Guilhem Fontès’s piano engages in a dialogue with Thomas Bourgeois’s percussion – in particular the zarb, an instrument with its roots in classical Persian music. Here, contemporary jazz blends with elements drawn from traditional and classical music to create a musical language that is by turns virtuosic, dreamlike and playful.
Through a blend of compositions and improvisations, the duo conjures up a colourful and surprising soundscape, drawing on literary and mythological imagery.
